McDonald's Canada and its franchisees plan to hire more than 6,500 new employees today, the largest number the company has attempted to recruit in one day as part of its annual National Hiring Day.

Youth unemployment rates in Canada are nearly double the national average, according to the announcement from McDonald's. The chain welcomes interested candidates, who have the potential to receive an interview on the spot. McDonald's is hiring for 6,450 crew members and 50 managers.  50 managers).
