McDonald's has confirmed to BurgerBusiness.com that it will roll out Mighty Wings nationally on Sept. 9.
The bone-in chicken wings will be available through November starting at $2.99, and will be sold in 3-, 5- and 10-piece options. Nine sauces will also be available for dipping, including chipotle barbeque, creamy ranch, honey mustard, hot mustard, spicy Buffalo, sweet chili, sweet 'n sour, honey and tangy barbeque.
BurgerBusiness received the tip about the launch from a Missouri-based McDonald's operator's Facebook page, that also hinted about some other fall debuts — Pralines and Crème McFlurry, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin pies and a Southwest Premium McWrap.
McDonald's began testing the Mighty Wings last summer and expanded the offering in January.
The Golden Arches sold Mighty Wings previously in the 1990s. Last year, the chain introduced McWings in Australia.
BurgerBusiness also reported that McDonald's filed a U.S. federal trademark registration for "Mighty Wing" earlier this month.
