McDonald's is playing up its international offerings this summer by letting customers pay in any amount of foreign currency that they have on hand. The brand said in a news release that customers can collect foreign currency, bring it to any participating location for three hours on June 6 — between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. — and exchange one piece of foreign currency for any of the brand's global favorites including the Dutch-hailing Stroopwafel McFlurry, Spanish-born Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger, Canadian Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and Australian Cheesy Bacon Fries.
"This unique event provides our customers with an international experience that only a brand with our global scale could create, all without having to hop on a plane," McDonald's Director of Communications Molly McKenna said in the release.
While rotating favorites from around the world are on the menu at McDonald's global headquarters restaurant in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, this marks the first time Worldwide Favorites are featured on U.S. menus nationwide at participating restaurants, the chain said.
