McDonald's expands delivery in Houston via DoorDash

July 17, 2019

McDonald's USA is partnering with DoorDash to expand delivery to include 200 Houston-area locations, beginning July 29, a news release said.

The Chicago-based QSR brand said it will also be a part of the platform's DashPass subscription program that offers unlimited delivery without fees on orders of $12 dollars or more for certain client brands. The announcement adds to the brand's so-called "McDelivery" program.

"In a few short years, McDelivery, has become an important part of our growth and our customer-centric strategy," McDonald's USA President Chris Kempczinski, said in the release. "Building on the success of McDelivery in the U.S., we're excited to make McDelivery accessible to customers on DoorDash, which is available in all 50 states and reaches 80% of Americans."

McDonald's and DoorDash have integrated their systems so that DoorDash orders are sent directly to the McDonald's POS. McDelivery launched in the U.S. in 2017, with partners like Uber Eats. Globally, the program has grown to a $3 billion business for the brand and is now offered in more than half of U.S. locations, equaling about 9,000 stores.
