McDonald's expands McDelivery nationwide via DoorDash, Uber Eats

Late Wednesday, McDonald's announced it is expanding delivery nationwide to include more than 10,000 U.S. locations through partnerships with DoorDash and Uber Eats, according to CBS news, which attributed the information to the chain's CEO Steve Easterbrook.

The fast food giant began delivering in some locations with Uber Eats two years ago and tested delivery in Houston, Texas with DoorDash last month. in 2017. Last month, it piloted a delivery service with DoorDash in Houston, Texas. 

The chain joins many other burger QSRs in offering the home delivery, like White Castle and Wendy's. During a recent earnings call, Easterbrook said the chain typically sees customers spending about twice as much when ordering McDonald's delivery, versus in-store or pick-up. The brand and its franchisees anticipate about $4 billion in delivery business this year. 

Sharing an update to the news of KFC's Beyond Fried Chicken limited test at an Atlanta KFC - the plant-based chicken sold out today in less than five hours. Lines were consistently wrapped around the restaurant starting at 8 a.m., with double-looped drive-thru lines. The test was so successful, guests purchased in five hours the amount of Beyond Fried Chicken KFC would normally sell on average of popcorn chicken in a week.
