McDonald's expands Mom's Quality Correspondents program
November 23, 2008
The Washington Post: McDonald's has formed a second Mom's Quality Correspondents program, this one based in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore area.
McDonald's began the Quality Correspondents program nationally last year. The five moms in the Washington region were selected from several hundred women who responded to TV ads asking for volunteers. The mothers are not paid. More than 83,000 people have followed the first iteration of the program online.
While some of the moms said they thought McDonald's was responding to the 2004 documentary "Super Size Me," McDonald's executives said it was an opportunity for transparency.
