McDonald's eyes Baltic markets for growth

McDonald's is expanding its footprint in the Baltic countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, according to a story in Bloomberg that was originally reported by Versio Zinios.

Those three markets represent the fastest growing economies in the European Union.

McDonald's is planning a nearly $30-million investment to expand its presence in the region by 2015. Premier Capital Ltd. holds franchise rights for the Golden Arches in the countries.
