McDonald's franchisees open charity-themed restaurant
December 1, 2008
Fort Worth Business Press: Husband-and-wife business owners Ron and June Hoffman, operators of three McDonald's restaurants in Fort Worth, have opened the first Ronald McDonald Charities-themed restaurant in Texas and only the second one in the country. Both are longtime supporters of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The store features a contemporary architectural style with a McCafe, plasma TVs, a Parent Zone and state-of-the-art indoor gym as well as photographs and messages carrying the RMHC theme.
The owners have asked employees to forego the usual gift exchange this holiday season and instead participate in the "Lights of Love" gift program and make donations to the Fort Worth House. The restaurant also is accepting donations to the food pantry from the public.
