McDonald's has named former VF Corporation diversity executive, Reginald J. Miller, as its vice president and global diversity, equity and inclusion officer. Miller was previously vice president, global inclusion ad diversity for VF Corporation, where he developed the company's formal diversity and inclusion strategy that led to it being named to Forbes' 2020 Best Employers for Diversity list, a news release said.
He is a former member of U.S. Army Reserve and has professional career experience that also includes positions at Walmart and Tyson Foods and is a strong adherent of servant leadership, who actually worked as a shift manager at McDonald's as his first high school-era job.
He is originally from Osceola, Arkansas, and has held numerous human resources positions, as well as those involved with supply chain and diversity and inclusion.
McDonald's Chief People Officer Heidi Capozzi told employees in an email this morning that Miller is committed to the notion that the "responsibility of diversity lies with one person, one department or one group."
"Reggie will provide the necessary leadership and guidance to support our collective ambition, while empowering our business with the tools, resources and support so that every single person in our company can play an active role in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion," according to the email.
