September 17, 2014

McDonald's is hosting Education Workshops in the Los Angeles market, in partnership with actress and singer Arden Cho.
The workshops are scheduled for:

  • Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Choong Hyun Mission Church located at 5005 Edenhurst Avenue, Los Angeles;
  • Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Walnut High School located at 400 Pierre Road, Walnut, California;
  • Nov. 2, at the Sheraton Cerritos located at 12725 Center Court Drive, Cerritos, California.

"McDonald's has sponsored this event in Los Angeles for many years and we are excited to continue providing such an inspirational and educational event for the Asian community," said Clay Paschen, III, president of McDonald's Operators Association of Southern California, in a news release. "The workshop provides a unique onsite experience that offers students and parents insights and helpful resources about the college admission process."

The workshops include interactive activities that allow students to learn about the six critical criteria in college admission – grades, test scores, class rank, recommendations, extracurricular involvement and demonstrated interest in the desired school. Students will also have a chance to speak with representatives from various colleges and obtain scholarship information.
