McDonald’s India franchisee inks 30-store deal

February 20, 2011

Hardcastle Restaurants Private Ltd., McDonald’s Corp.’s Indian franchisee, is set to open 30 new stores by the end of 2011 in southern and western India.

According to Reuters, the company will invest $111 million in India throughout the next three to four years, for a total of 250 units. The franchisee currently operates 106 McDonald’s outlets.

Hardcastle Restaurants became a licensee of McDonald's after the quick-service giant sold its 50 percent stake in the joint venture last year.
