McDonald's is subject line in differing cyberattacks
December 3, 2008
MX Logic: McDonald's name has been used in two different cyberattacks on consumers. The first was a phishing scam targeting McDonald's customers with an eight-question satisfaction survey that promises to add $75 to a user's bank account.
In the second, cybercriminals send a supposed holiday e-mail touting a special coupon from either McDonald's or Coca-Cola. Both messages include a zip attachment that installs a Trojan horse on a user's computer when opened.
