McDonald's, Kenexa partner to customize recruitment
November 8, 2007
LONDON and WAYNE, Pa. — Kenexa has announced it has been selected by McDonald's to design a customized assessment for the recruitment of its U.K. and Northern Ireland team of hourly-paid staff.
Each year, McDonald's receives more than 400,000 applications for its crew, customer care and maintenance positions. This new assessment will become an integral part of the "Hire the Smile" recruitment process for the organization's 1,225 U.K.- and Northern Ireland-based restaurants, according to a news release.
"We're hoping this assessment will save us time and bring enormous efficiency savings along with great consistency," said Nicky Ivory, reputation and resourcing consultant at McDonald's.
The assessment will measure candidates against the key competencies necessary for a successful career at McDonald's, namely customer engagement, personal interaction, teamwork, speed and accuracy.
In 2007, McDonald's was voted the best place to work in the U.K. hospitality industry by Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine and was listed in the Financial Times Top 50 Best Workplaces list.
