McDonald's kicks it up a notch with new chicken LTO

McDonald's is adding a new chicken offering to the menu for a limited time in the U.S. Sweet N' Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Tenders become available the week of Aug. 20 nationwide, a news release said. 

This offering is a direct response to customers' requests for more chicken items at the chain. McDonald's began answering that request two years ago when it released artificial color-, flavor- and preservative-free Chicken McNuggets. Last year it launched the Buttermilk Crispy Tenders in 2017, and then created the Classic Chicken Sandwich earlier this year.

The new Sweet N' Spicy tenders build on a base of Buttermilk Crispy Tenders, which the chain said are then tossed the new barbecue glaze that combines brown sugar, chili pepper, garlic powder, paprika and other spices into a "kicky" coating. They are available as four-, six-, and 10-piece servings.
