McDonald's is reaffirming its commitment to affordability this summer with the introduction of the $5 Meal Deal, available for a limited time at participating locations nationwide, according to a press release.

The deal, which launched June 25th, offers customers a choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink, all for just $5. Customers can order the meal in-store or through the McDonald's mobile app.

"We heard our fans loud and clear — they're looking for even more great value from us, and this summer that's exactly what they'll get," Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, said in the press release. "Value has always been part of our DNA. We're focused on living up to that legacy and offering delicious, affordable options customers can enjoy any time they walk through our doors, go through our drive thru or place an order through our app."

In addition to the $5 Meal Deal, McDonald's is offering a summer of value through several initiatives:

  • Free Fry Fridays: Every Friday through the end of the year, customers can score a free medium fry with any $1 purchase through the McDonald's app.
  • National French Fry Day: On July 13th, McDonald's will celebrate National French Fry Day by offering free fries of any size, no purchase necessary.

The McDonald's app is central to unlocking these summer deals. By downloading the app, customers can not only order the $5 Meal Deal and access Free Fry Fridays, but they can also earn MyMcDonald's Rewards points. Every $1 spent earns 100 points, which can be redeemed for free menu items.

The deal is available for a limited time.
