McDonald's restaurants of southern California have kicked-off a partnership with the Los Angeles Police Department to host "Coffee with a Cop" events in restaurants. McDonald's is committed to hosting the events throughout the city at least once per month, according to a company press release.

The mission is to break down communication barriers between police officers and citizens.

"As McDonald's owner/operators our number one priority is to be a good neighbor no matter where we do business," said Ti Chang, McDonald's owner/operator. "We are very excited to invite our friends and neighbors into our restaurants to create positive community engagement and dialog with our local police officers."

"Coffee with a Cop is a great opportunity to bring the community, and members of the police department together to exchange ideas, address concerns and share in conversation over a great cup of McDonald's Coffee," said Charlie Beck, chief of the Los Angeles Police Department. "We're proud to partner with McDonald's and are grateful for their insight and vision to help build a better community."
