McDonald's has launched a global marketing campaign for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026, introducing limited-time themed meals, collectible keepsakes and soccer-themed toys, according to a press release.
Starting June 4, customers can purchase the FIFA World Cup 26 Meal, which offers a choice of a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets paired with a limited-edition, gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. A tournament breakfast lineup featuring the Sausage McMuffin with Egg or Sausage Egg Biscuit and Hash Browns will also be available.
Each meal includes one of nine collectible cups featuring soccer stars Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies and Santiago Gimenez, along with the McDonald's character Grimace.
"At McDonald's, magic happens when families, friends, and fans come together and celebrate with the people they love. Partnering with the FIFA World Cup 26 allows us to take that shared joy and bring it to life at a global scale through our food, our experiences, and the ways fans connect with the game," Morgan Flatley, global chief marketing officer and head of new business ventures at McDonald's, said in the press release. "As football icons take the field to unite fans across continents, McDonald's will be there from the first whistle to the final minute with limited-time meals and keepsakes so fans of all ages can be part of the excitement all tournament long and beyond."
"Growing up, it was our ritual after soccer tournaments to go to our McDonald's near Hershey, PA for Chicken McNuggets and a McFlurry," Christian Pulisic, a U.S. Men's National Team star, added in the press release. "Those memories were a core part of my childhood and an experience I still share with my teammates today. To now be featured on a McDonald's collectible cup all these years later is a full-circle moment."
Beginning June 9, the chain will launch the FIFA World Cup 26 Happy Meal. Each order includes one of 23 Squishmallows plush toys kitted in soccer jerseys representing the three host nations: Canada, Mexico and the United States. The Happy Meals feature special packaging and a scannable code unlocking a digital game on the Happy Meal website. In the U.S., a portion of the proceeds will support Ronald McDonald House Charities families.
The promotion extends beyond restaurants with exclusive rewards on the McDonald's app. The company also announced "McDonald's FC," an initiative that will provide select restaurant crew members from around the world with opportunities to experience the tournament firsthand, including attending matches and playing on an official pitch.
McDonald's has more than 45,000 locations in over 100 countries.
