McDonald's marketing chief receives AdFed award

CHICAGO — William Lamar, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for McDonald's USA, has been awarded the 2007 American Advertising Federation Silver Medal Lifetime Achievement Award by the Chicago Advertising Federation.
The AAF Silver Medal Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advertising.
Lamar was instrumental in the development and ongoing execution of the McDonald's "i'm lovin' it" campaign. Under Lamar's leadership, the company was honored in 2004 as "Marketer of the Year" by Advertising Age magazine.
Lamar also was named one of the most powerful African Americans in corporate America by Black Enterprise magazine.
