McDonald's admits its oh-so-straw-like McFlurry spoon has a problem as customers confuse it for a straw, much to their frustration, given the utensil is actually a hollow piece of plastic used for mixing the dessert.

So the brand is making concessions for all that misunderstanding by offering customers who have experienced this eating implement conundrum a free regular-size Caramel Brownie McFlurry on May 4 at participating stores, a news release said.

In fact, customers can even reap the reward without leaving home or work. From May 3-9, those who make a $15 minimum purchase on Uber Eats from the brand will also get a free regular-size Caramel Brownie McFlurry.

McDonald's stands to be mixing up more than a few of the concoctions too, since the Chicago-based brand now has more than 14,000 U.S. restaurants and serves millions daily.
