Buenos Aires, Argentina-based McDonald's franchise company Arcos Dorados is giving customers in Brazil a chance to win a million dollars as it prepares for the millionaire Monopoly drawing.

The McDonald’s Brazil Monopoly promotion has attracted more than half a million participants, who, after purchasing meals at McDonald’s, earned Monopoly cards, instant wins and the chance to register for the millionaire grand prize, according to an announcement. The grand prize winner will receive one million Reais in gold bar certificates when the drawing is held July 3 in a televised event, the company said.

Throughout the seven-week promotion, McDonald’s customers received cards with six scratch-off prize sections and three ways to participate: Instant wins, prizes and the millionaire draw. This year’s prizes include mini Panasonic stereo systems, Yamaha Crosser XTZ 150cc motorbikes, a flight to Orlando, Florida and instant wins for McDonald’s menu items.

This Monopoly promotion is the third annual effort from Arcos Dorados, the world’s largest McDonald’s franchisee in Brazil.
