Less than a week after being named McDonald's president and CEO, Chris Kempczinski, joined with the mega-QSR's Board Chair Rick Hernandez Jr., to let employees get to know their new man at the top a little better. The new CEO also shared his thoughts about the company and its path forward during a morning "town hall" that a McDonald's spokeswoman said in an email was held with "thousands of employees" at the brand's corporate headquarters and worldwide.

Some of the points made during the worldwide meeting included Kempczinski reassurances to the employees that after 60 years the brand would "continue to thrive," with employees commitment to "re-enlist," as he called it "to make this company an example for the world and to do the right thing each and every day."

Hernandez went a level further as he called attention to the company's Standard Code of Conduct, a spokeswoman said, in a quote she provided from this morning meeting telling employees:

"I think (the [Standard Code of Conduct] policy) basically it tries to keep the workplace about work, an honest and open interaction with people and a place where people can believe that decisions are made or not made for personal reasons, but for professional reasons, for the best interest of the company."

Regarding the company code of conduct, former CEO Steve Easterbrook admitted he violated by engaging in a consensual relationship with another employee.  Sunday, Easterbrook relinquished his position with the company after meeting with the board around the employee relationship. However, the company has not provided additional details about the circumstances, other than what this site reported Monday morning.

At today's town hall, Kempczinski also gave employees a little background on who he is as a Boston native and son of physician and teacher, who now is married with two youngsters and a "golden doodle. The company also said he is an avid marathon runner (with more than 20 races to his credit) and "eats McDonald's ice cream everyday."
