Who doesn't love a Happy Meal, right? McDonald's acknowledged that fact this week by launching the grown-up version of those little boxed meals, the "Thank You Meal," which it will provide free to health care workers, police, firefighters and paramedics from today through Tuesday, May 5, in a show of gratitude for their service during the pandemic nationally, according to a news release.

The meals can be had at no charge via drive-thru or carry out at participating McDonald's restaurants nationwide over those weeks. During breakfast, lunch or dinner, Thank You Meals will feature a choice of sandwiches, drinks, and a side, along with a note of appreciation. It will be served in the well-known Happy Meal box, as well.

"Our restaurants have always been a place for the community to come together and share everyday feel-good moments with family, friends and neighbors," said Atlanta owner/operator, Vicki Chancellor, in the release. "And, now during times like this, it's more important than ever for our restaurants to continue to serve and help the communities that have supported us for so long."
