McDonald's offers gift card to customer arrested for 911 complaint
March 3, 2009
Fox News has reported that McDonald's has sent a gift card for a free meal to a Florida woman arrested after calling 911 three times to report the Fort Pierce store's refusal to refund her money after they were out of McNuggets. Police say she was cited on a misuse of 911 charge.
The woman said she paid for a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets and the restaurant then told her it ran out of them and refused to give her a refund. The cashier suggested she choose something else off the menu of equal value to the McNuggets.
WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fla.,posted a statement from McDonald's operations manager for the Florida Region Carlos Solorzano, issuing an apology. He said that the customer should have been offered the choice of a full refund or alternative menu items.
