McDonald's Quarter Pounder inventor dies

Al Bernardin, known inventor of the McDonald's Quarter Pounder, has died of a stroke at the age of 81, according to the Chicago Tribune. Bernardin began his career at McDonald's corporate headquarters in 1960 where he worked in product development and as dean of Hamburger University, the company's training center.
In 1970 he become a McDonald's franchisee and the next year developed the Quarter Pounder.
