McDonald's, a week after announcing it is exiting Russia completely, aims to sell its Russian business to Alexander Govor, the brand licensee in Russia.
Govor will acquire the complete business portfolio and operate under a different brand name, according to a Wall Street Journal report. He currently runs 25 chain stores in Siberia.
Terms were not disclosed. McDonald's had been operating 847 restaurants and employed 62,000 workers in Russia as of March. It expects the deal to close within a few weeks, according to the news outlet. The fast food chain owns 100 Ukraine locations that have been closed.
