McDonald's still Americans' preferred QSR

The report finds that McDonald's, which celebrates its 54 years in the industry April 15, remains America's preferred QSR. The rankings of consumer preference for other QSRs include:
2. Burger King
3. Subway (up from No. 4 in 2007)
4. Taco Bell (up from No. 5 in 2007)
5. Wendy's (down from No. 3 in 2007)
6. KFC7. Pizza Hut
8. Arby's
9. Other (an aggragation of smaller chains)
10. Dairy Queen
The report also found that fast casual chains Chipotle, Jamba Juice and Panera Bread have successfully carved out their share of the limited-service market, with consumer preference for these chains continuing to grow.
Oher findings include:
- Between 2007 and 2008, the average number of monthly visits to QSRs increased from seven to 11.
- Men are more likely than women to eat alone at a QSR.
- Americans ages 18-24 are three times more likely than older Americans to snack at QSRs with friends or co-workers.
