McDonald's to offer free breakfast for educators, school staff

McDonald's is offering a free breakfast meal to educators and school staff starting Monday, according to a report from USA Today. Teachers, school staff and administrators can get a free "Thank You Meal" beginning Oct. 11 through Oct. 15. The Thank You Meal comes in a traditional Happy Meal box and includes an entrée, hasbrowns and a drink.

McDonald's first gave free meals to first responders in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jennifer Healan, McDonald's vice president of marketing, brand content and engagement, told the news outlet the company wanted to "build on that idea and thank our educators in our communities for all that they've been doing and what they do really every day."

A valid school ID is needed to receive the meal.
