McDonald's U.K. is rolling out the red carpet for St. Nicholas this year, launching a new ad campaign for the return of its "festive menu," which includes the debut of the Festive Deluxe premium burger.
According to Marketing Week, the promotional spot highlights the restaurant's new burger, as well as the Chicken and Bacon Supreme, Cheese Melt Dippers, Festive Pie and the Terry's Chocolate Orange McFlurry, all part of the festive menu.
The McFlurry is back on the menu after a three-year hiatus.
The new Festive Deluxe features a beef patty with cheese, bacon, red onion rings, Batavia lettuce, a honey barbecue glaze and smoky peppered mayonaisse on a square, cheese-topped Focaccia bun. It hits stores throughout the country on Nov. 24, and will be supported by a new Christmas-themed advertising campaign.
The campaign covers television, outdoor and print, and plays on the famous Christmas carol "Deck the Halls." It was created by Leo Burnett, an agency that has worked with McDonald's many times in the past, including for its "Kung Fu Panda" Happy Meal promotion.
