McDonald's U.K. hopes to advance its training offerings

The Financial Times: McDonald's in Britain wants to beef up its employee training programs. Last year, the company became one of Britain's first employers to win the power to award its own nationally recognized qualifications. It now offers courses in basic shift management that are equivalent to Advanced LevelGeneral Certificate of Educationcourses. The company hopes to one day offer its own postgraduate degree program.
