McDonald's USA names supplier of year

OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald's USA has announced it has named Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, a supplier for many of McDonald's breakfast offerings as well as sweet goods, as the 2008 Supplier of the Year. McDonald's USA unveiled the U.S. Supplier of the Year Award at the recent U.S Supplier Summit, an annual gathering of key U.S. McDonald's suppliers, held in Lombard, Ill., near its Oak Brook, Ill., headquarters.
For more than 25 years, Ralcorp has been providing quality bakery products for McDonald's core breakfast offerings such as griddle cakes for the McGriddles sandwich, Hotcakes and Biscuits, as well as Cinnamon Melts.
The McDonald's U.S. Supplier of the Year Award is presented annually to the food, paper or product supplier that makes the most significant impact on, and contribution to, McDonald's U.S. business results from the previous year. The award recognizes criteria including commitment to quality and food safety, product, equipment and process innovation, exemplary customer service and value.
Dan Gorsky, vice president, supply chain, McDonald's North America, said Ralcorp won the award for showing outstanding leadership and delivering on numerous product and quality improvements, driving innovation, making life easier for McDonald's restaurant employees and reducing restaurant waste.
