Fast food chains McDonald's and Wendy's are not being truthful when advertising the size of cheeseburgers, making them appear bigger than burgers customers receive after purchase.
That's the allegation made in a class-action lawsuit filed today in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The two brands did not respond to a request for comment, according to the Journal.
The lawsuit claims advertisements for the cheeseburgers use patties that are not fully cooked, which appear 15% to 20% larger than fully cooked burgers, and states fully cooked burgers shrink by 25%.
The lawsuit comes just about three months after a similar suit against competitor Burger King, filed in Florida, alleged wrongful advertisement of its burger size.
