Meritage adds Georgia Wendy's to portfolio

Meritage Hospitality Group Inc. has acquired its 112th Wendy's restaurant. Its newest unit is located in Buford, Ga.

"We are committed to growth in the Wendy's brand and welcome our new team members to Meritage," said Robert Schermer, Jr., CEO of Meritage.

Meritage plans to invest in long-term fundamentals of the Wendy's brand and is targeting both new and existing market areas for growth. The company's 112 Wendy's units are located in six states, including Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North and South Carolina and Virginia.

The company is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Mich.
