Mid-Atlantic Subway developer staying strong

Washington Business Journal:Subway Development Corp., a Subway area developer for the mid-Atlantic region, said business is still good even during the recession.
Headed by CEO Larry Feldman, Subway Development by the end of the year will have opened 40 franchises, relocated eight stores and closed none for business reasons, for a total of about 1,040 sites in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware.
The company also plans to open five stores of its fast casual Subway Café concept in the next 18 months. SubwayCaféhas a more upscale decor and some upscale menu offerings added to the traditional sandwich lineup.
