Monopoly back at McDonald's
October 1, 2007
OAK BROOK, Ill. — The Monopoly Game has returned to McDonald's. Over the past four years, the game has, on average, helped increase U.S. sales by 8.3 percent and customer transactions by 4 percent.
McDonald's is featuring real past Monopoly winners on packaging and in commercials to reinforce that the game has delivered big winners in the past and that customers can — and do — win.
Additionally, for the first time McDonald's is offering a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to bring the game to life, which will feature the product packaging facility where some of the packaging for the promotion is produced, national commercial shoots featuring the first Asian consumer market Monopoly Game at McDonald's commercial and the story of Charlotte Meade, who won $1 million in 2006 playing the Mcdonald's Monopoly game.
During the past three years, the promotion has delivered more than 350 million winners, including a number of top-prize winners. Large prize recipients from the past years include two $1 million winners and thousands of winners of other prizes.
The Monopoly 2007 Game is available in participating McDonald's restaurants through Oct. 29, while supplies last, and online through Nov. 13, 2007.
