Nathan's Famous appoints new CEO; reports Q2

WESTBURY, N.Y. — Nathan's Famous Inc. has named vice president Eric Gatoff its new chief executive officer, to replace Howard Lorber, who was appointed executive chairman of the board.
Lorber has served as the company's chairman of the board since 1990, CEO since 1993 and a director since 1987. Gatoff has served as the company's vice president and corporate counsel since 2003 and a director since 2005.
The company said both new appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2007.
The QSR also reported its second-quarter for the period ended Sept. 24, 2006. Net income was $1.8 million compared to $3.1 million last year. Sales increased 16 percent to $9.9 million.
