Nathan's Famous is growing its plant-based offerings, adding a vegan hot dog this coming Monday at 13 New York locations of the chain, according to the New York Post.

The addition of the Meatless Farms item comes nearly four months after the chain said it was introducing its first plant-based gourmet burger through a partnership with Impossible Foods in February.

The Meatless Farm dog is soy-free and, according to totallyveganbuzz.com, is made with pea protein along with Nathan's "secret spice recipe."

The vegan dog will be available next week at Nathan's historic Coney Island store. The brand's Impossible Meats burger, announced this winter, is in a test pilot in 10 stores, the company said.

Those who don't live in the Big Apple and desperate for a vegan dog fix can find six- and 12-packs of the meatless offering available in a kit at the brand's Shopify retail outlet.
