NCR approved as POS vendor for Wendy's franchisees

Wendy's/Arby's Group Inc. has added another aproved point-of-sale technology provider for the Wendy's restaurant system franchisees.The agreement with NCR Corp. gives franchise operators the opportunity to order and deploy the NCR RealPOS 70XRT, NCR's most powerful integrated touch POS workstation that combines business-optimized technologies, innovative retail design and industry-leading serviceability.
 
"Out-of-box quality, performance and serviceability are key criteria for the equipment and technology used in restaurant operations," said Wendy's/Arby's chief information officer Don Zimmerman. "NCR solutions bring these attributes to the table, reflecting the company's emphasis on technology excellence and continuous improvement."
 
Ready for front-counter or drive-thru service, the NCR RealPOS 70XRT features include:
  • Energy-efficient Intel processors and a high-efficiency power supply thatreduces energy costs up to 50 percent over previous-generation systems
  • Reliable and bright touchscreen interface with full-tilt capability to enhance cashier ease of use
  • Integrated biometric fingerprint reader is available for secure and fast cashier login, manager overrides and other POS applications
The agreement with Wendy's/Arby's also includes a kitchen display system as well as NCR receipt printers, customer displays, cash drawers and other peripherals.
 
Earlier this month, Panasonic announced that its was an approved supplier for its POS hardware solution, and WAND Corp. announced it was an approved vendor for its POS software solution.
