NexCen names Lane new chief accounting officer

NexCen Brands Inc. has announced the appointment of Brian D. Lane as vice president, chief accounting officer. He will report to Mark Stanko, chief financial officer. Lane, 47, will be responsible for overseeing the company's SEC reporting and corporate accounting functions as well as managing its accounting policies and procedures.
 
Lane has 25 years of experience in finance and accounting. He served for seven years as CFO of Blimpie International Inc. Most recently, he served as chief accounting officer of Altisource Portfolio Solutions, a newly public company for which Lane was instrumental in completing its spin-off from Ocwen Financial Corporation. Lane is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Georgia.
 
NexCen's portfolio of franchise brands includes two retail franchise conceptsands five quick-service restaurant franchise concepts: Great American Cookies, MaggieMoo's, Marble Slab Creamery, Pretzelmaker and Pretzel Time. The brands are managed by NexCen Franchise Management Inc., a subsidiary of NexCen Brands.
 
In unrelated news, the company has filed its 2008 Annual Report on Form 10-K and Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the periods ending Dec. 31, 2008, and March 31, 2009, respectively, with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The financial statements for these periods contain no material changes from the selected results previously announced on Sept. 22, 2009.
