Olo, an online and mobile ordering company for restaurants, turned 10 years old this week, the company announced.
Olo will end 2015, with 81 percent smartphone penetration, according to the press release. There are now 150 brands working with Olo at the more than 10,000 restaurants that they represent.
Olo began in the fast casual realm and expanded into working with fast food and casual dining brands. It continues to pursue the goal of 51 percent or more individual restaurant orders coming through digital ordering. The company has worked with Chipotle and many others.
"I'm thrilled to have relocated Olo's headquarters over the past year to 26 Broadway: the mighty Standard Oil Company building at the southern tip of Manhattan. As a hermit crab in the shell of the great oil monopoly, Olo is a symbol of the rise of the NYC tech community that we've been lucky enough to be a part of over the past decade. We continue growing and plan to close 2015 with a team of 75," Noah Glass, Olo founder and CEO, said in a statement.
"Danny Meyer, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and founder of Shake Shack, has long been one of my restaurant industry heroes. I'm delighted that he's joined Olo as an investor and board director over this past year. So in Danny's wonderful spirit of 'Enlightened Hospitality,' I want to thank you for your support. Thank you to our team, our clients, our community, our suppliers, and our investors. And most of all, thank you to our families for making us who we are and supporting us in this endeavor. To the next 10 years!" he said.
