On the Move: Subway and Sonic celebrate milestones

Virginia, California and Rhode Island saw new openings this week.

Cookie and ice cream shop The Baked Bear announced its La Cost and Carmel Valley, California, locations are scheduled to open in the San Diego area Feb. 7 and sometime in April, respectively, making this the third and fourth locations in the area.

Sonic Drive-In announced two new franchise development agreements in Rhode Island, the company's entrance into its 45th state. The new Sonic is scheduled to open in mid-2015 in Providence, with plans for more openings in the future. A second franchisee plans to open two new drive-ins in Rhode Island within the next few years. 

Subway is celebrating the opening of its 30,000th North American store located on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia
