The News-Review (Roseburg, Ore.): Bill and Brenda Stout, owners of a Roseburg, Ore., Taco Del Mar have taken extra steps to implement sustainable practices.
Taco Del Mar rolled out a system-wide change to Trellis Earth-manufactured biodegradable cutlery and deli-ware in August, and the Stouts have switched to biodegradable packaging and utensils in its store andcatering.
Their store also has implemented a number of sustainable practices, including:
- Using Trellis Earth trash bags not made from petroleum
- Using non-bleached paper napkins and dispense non-bleached paper towels in washrooms
- Turning on indoor lights only to supplement natural light from outside through expansive windows
The owners also plan to offer a discount soon to customers who bring their own reusable containers for take-out orders.
