Panda Express adds first-ever dessert to celebrate 40th anniversary

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Panda Express has added its first-ever dessert menu item, the Apple Pie Roll, according to a press release.

The Apple Pie Roll features apples, fall spices and cinnamon sugar in a wonton wrapper.

"As we reflect upon Panda Express's forty-year journey, we are incredibly grateful for our pioneers that paved the way for Panda to create and popularize American Chinese food, and for our guests and communities for their embrace of our cuisine," Andrea Cherng, chief brand officer at Panda Express, said in the release. "In celebration of Panda Express's 40^th birthday, we are introducing what we hope to be the next beloved American Chinese classic, Apple Pie Roll, our first-ever dessert and a sweet and fun celebration of our American and Chinese origins."

Panda Rewards members will receive a free Apple Pie Roll via the brand's app.

Panda Express has nearly 2,500 locations.
