ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 2005--Panda Express, the nation's leader in Chinese quick-service restaurants, is partnering with the Los Angeles Dodgers to bring fans new flavors at Dodger Stadium. The partnership is indicative of a trend seen with sports fans everywhere: they demand a diverse array of food selections at ballparks. The Dodger Stadium location marks the fifth Panda Express to open in a sports complex. "We're really excited to step up to the plate and support our hometown team," said Tom Davin, president and COO. "Panda Express was born in L.A. County in 1983, and we now have close to 150 restaurants, more than 2,000 associates, and our corporate support center here. Our guests are often surprised at the variety of places they find us - from ballparks and theme parks to airports and college campuses. Panda Express is an extremely versatile concept, and L.A. County has been a great launching point for many of these ventures." Marty Greenspun, executive vice president and COO of the Dodgers, said: "The Dodgers are thrilled to offer their fans Panda Express as one of the concessions at Dodger Stadium. We invited Panda Express to join Dodger Stadium to fulfill the goal of providing Dodger fans with a wide range of menu choices as we continue to strive to create an affordable, family-friendly experience at the ballpark." During the Dodger games on Aug. 26, 27 and 28 versus the Houston Astros, Panda Express will offer a loyalty card to all Dodger fans. When five two-entree plates are purchased at any L.A. County Panda Express location, the holder of the card will receive a free pair of Dodger tickets to either the Sept. 26 game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates or the Sept. 27 game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Dodger pitcher Jeff Weaver is Panda's spokesperson on L.A.-area radio advertisements through the end of the season.
