Philadelphia McDonald's to promote active lifestyles

PHILADELPHIA — McDonald's Restaurants of the Greater Philadelphia Region Inc. announced it will promote balanced, active lifestyles this fall with a series of Go Active! Academic Award check presentations and a Passport to Play tour stop throughout the greater Philadelphia region.
 
In its third year, the Go Active! Academic Awards program has benefited more than 8,000 students and has granted $45,000 to local schools in an effort to encourage balanced active lifestyles.
 
McDonald's Passport to Play national tour also will visit Mote Elementary School in Wilmington, Del., Oct. 19 to teach students games from around the globe. Both programs are part of McDonald's Balanced, Active Lifestyles initiative that seeks to encourage balanced, active lifestyles among children.
