Philadephia region McDonald's supports children's active lifestyles

PHILADELPHIA — McDonald's Restaurants of the Greater Philadelphia Region Inc. will host a Passport to Play Day on Nov. 3, 8 a.m. to noon, at Silverlake Elementary in Middletown, Del. Passport to Play promotes balanced, active lifestyles for students in grades three to five as they engage in physical activities and playground games from around the world while receiving simple nutrition tips and learning about the culture and country where the activities originate.
 
The program is part of McDonald's Balanced, Active Lifestyles initiative that seeks to encourage balanced, active lifestyles among children.
 
Silverlake Elementary is one of 50 schools across the country where McDonald's is hosting a Passport to Play Day as part of a national tour. Since 2005, the program has been accepted in 36,000 public elementary schools, reaching more nine million school children across the United States and resulting in 19 million hours of active play.
