Philippines asks QSRs to cut rice servings

Agence France-Press:With rice prices reaching record levels in the Philippines, the government has asked the country's fast-food outlets to offer half portions of rice."People don't really finish their rice," the Philippine Daily Inquirer quotes agriculture secretary Arthur Yap as saying.

Restaurants such as Jollibee, McDonald's and KFC are popular among Filipino families, especially those on low incomes, and serve rice with most of their meals.
