Ponderosa, Bonanza launch promotion against fast food

PLANO, Texas — Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses have launched a promotion titled "The Fight for Your Appetite," offering a lunch buffet for $5 and a dinner buffet for $8 in exchange for any fast-food receipt.

The promotion will market directly to consumers with statements such as "Because Great Tasting Meals Aren't Served In A Wrapper" and "Fast Food Value Meals — Not Much Of A Value Or A Meal."

The program runs through June 30 and includes a simulated fast-food receipt on the Ponderosa and Bonanza Web sites and in free-standing newspaper inserts.
