Sailormen Inc., Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and the Muscular Dystrophy Association announced that their 2014 “Appetite for a Cure” program and the annual Sailormen Inc., Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Golf Classic have raised a record-breaking $703,034 to help those affected by muscle disease.
The Sailormen Inc., Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Golf Classic celebrated its 10th anniversary this year on May 8 in Miami Lakes, Fla. According to a news release, more than 40 companies sponsored the event that raised more than $163,000 to help those served by the MDA.
Additionally, this year's “Appetite for a Cure” program ran from Jan. 27 through March 16, at participating Popeyes restaurants in South Florida and across the Southeast. The program raised a record $539,863 through the sale of $1 coupon cards worth $30 to be used toward free and discounted purchases during future visits.
