Popeyes introduces Boneless Wings as permanent menu additions

Popeyes has introduced Boneless Wings as a permanent menu item, available nationwide, according to a press release.

The boneless wings come in six flavors: Classic, Honey Lemon Pepper, Signature Hot, Honey BBQ, Sweet 'N Spicy and Roasted Garlic Parmesan. The wings are made from all-white meat chicken breast and are hand battered, breaded and fried.

To market the menu addition, the brand has teamed with actor, comedian, writer and producer Jimmy O. Yang, best known for his roles in "Love Hard," "Silicon Valley,' Crazy Rich Asians" and "Space Force."

Yang previous wrote an op-ed about his distaste for boneless wings but said he has changed his tune to Popeyes' offering.

"Ok, you got me. I wasn't acting at all. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm officially as boneless believer," Yang said in the release. "Popeyes has made a boneless wing so good that I'm eating my words. … If these wings can convert me, they can convert anyone."

"Our new Boneless Wings are a gamechanger," Jeff Kein, president of Popeyes North America, added in the press release. "Our culinary team brought the best flavors from our existing wing platform to this new boneless offering to give our guests the best of both worlds."

The brand is giving away a free six-piece Boneless Wings order with any $10 purchase made through the Popeyes app or website through July 14.
