Popeyes intros un-breaded blackened chicken sandwich LTO

Popeyes is taking the QSR sandwich war to a whole different level with its latest LTO — a blackened chicken sandwich, which the Bayou state's KNOE-TV said is now available at some locations of the chain.

The sandwich comes in classic and spicy varieties and is not battered or breaded, but instead fried in blackened seasoning and served on a brioche bun with pickles and mayonnaise. The spicy version includes all those features, but subs out spicy mayonnaise for the tamer variety on the classic.

The QSR has more than 2,600 locations.
